Vintage 14K Gold Ammonite Ammolite Alexandrite Ring

$785.00

A spectacular vintage c1990s 14K yellow gold ammolite/ammonite rainbow gem fossil signet ring with natural alexandrites. Size 6. Can be resized for an additional $70 (message us after checkout, or purchase using the ring resize listing and message us with the exact size you need). The beautiful rainbow ammolite is an iridescent (think shiny rainbow) gem material found on ammonite fossils. Ammonites were ocean-dwelling mollusks that lived from the mid-Devonian (388 million years ago) through the Cretaceous (66 million years ago). Their closest living relatives are coleoids (octopus, squid, and cuttlefish). Ring weighs 4.62 grams. Marked and tested as solid 14K gold. The oval ammolite measures 10x8mm. Each beautiful round cut alexandrite measures 2mm in diameter.

Ammolite was named after the ancient Egyptian God, Ammon. It is a rare and valuable organic gemstone used for centuries for its metaphysical and physical properties.

Ammolite is made of the fossilized shells of ammonites, which are prehistoric marine creatures ammonites that lived more than 65 million years ago. Today, Ammolite can only be seen and found in Alberta, Canada.

The ammolite gemstone gets its beautiful colors from the presence of aragonite, a form of calcium carbonate. Ammolite can be found in various colors, including red, green, blue, purple, and yellow.

This gorgeous display of color makes it a popular choice for jewelry pieces like ammolite rings, pendants, necklaces, earrings, and brooches. However, it took some time before the ammolite could be considered a certified gemstone. The World Jewellery Confederation was able to dub ammolite as a gemstone in 1981.

With this came ammolite’s classification and grading criteria. Thanks to the World Jewellery Confederation, ethical sourcing and trading of gem-quality ammolite jewelry was made possible. In addition to their stunning colors, Ammolite stones are usually shaped into freeform natural cabochons. This way, the ammolite gemstones retain as much of their natural shape when made into jewelry pieces.

Lastly, wearing and carrying a piece of ammolite can help you stay energized throughout the day. Ammolite balances and activates all of ones chakras.

Arrives in a sleek black logo gift box.

All pieces are personally cleansed of past energy and Reiki master charged with positive Universal energy. If you have a specific intention you would like to request for your piece, please let us know.
